Parmigiano Reggiano 200g
Known universally as the King of Cheeses and for good reason too. Parmesan can only be produced in restricted areas - the provinces of Modena, Parma and Reggio Emilia and partially Bologna and Mantova, using only milk from farms which respect the strict standards needed to produce the cheese. Sixteen litres of cows’ milk are used to produce just one kilo of parmesan. Each wheel bears the Parmigiano Reggiano mark and other information identifying the dairy that produced it and the month and year it was produced.

The parmesan we have selected is aged for 24 months, generally considered to be its peak, has a fullness of flavour and an unmistakeable aroma. It is an extremely versatile cheese, wonderful for grating over pasta, stirring into soups, shaving onto salads and on carpaccio dishes or just eating chunks of the cheese drizzled with a good quality balsamic vinegar.
